TYPES OF BODY THERAPY
ACUTONICS HEALING SYSTEM
The Acutonics Healing System is an energy-based non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture, but without needles. Precision-calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points sending sound waves deeply into the energy pathways of the body to relieve chronic pain, promote healing, ignite our spirit and change consciousness.
AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy means "treatment using scents". It is a holistic treatment
of caring for the body with pleasant smelling botanical oils such as
rose, lemon, lavender and peppermint. The essential oils are massaged into the skin,
inhaled directly or diffused to scent an entire room. Aromatherapy is used for the
relief of pain, care for the skin, alleviate tension and fatigue and invigorate the entire
body. Essential oils can affect the mood, alleviate fatigue, reduce
anxiety and promote relaxation. When inhaled, they work on the brain
and nervous system through stimulation of the olfactory nerves. Each
client is given their own specific treatment.
MANUAL LYMPHATIC MASSAGE
Manual Lymphatic Massage is a specific massage technique that stimulates the movement of body fluids within the tissues. A therapeutic method using a rhythmical touch that is so light it can be applied to areas after cosmetic surgery without discomfort. Without treatment, fluids remain in the tissue resulting in swelling and pain. This therapeutic method will stimulate fluids thereby reducing swelling, bruising and minimizing scar tissue. Pre-operative treatments help cleanse the system making the body as healthy as possible before and after surgery. Very effective following dental surgery as well.
MASSAGE
Massage is an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs and has proven
beneficial to many chronic conditions such as low back pain, arthritis, and bursitis.
Massage helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living. It promotes deep relaxation
with a renewal of energy.
Massage provides relief to people from all walks of life - the weekend or competitive athlete, the home gardener, the overstressed executive struggling to keep pace in today's economy. Secretaries, laborers, waitresses - anyone can feel a need for massage at some point in time. The older population, as well, will benefit from massage, as it can enhance flexibility and circulation.
POLARITY
Polarity therapy is a holistic approach to natural health care. It asserts that energy
fields exist everywhere in nature, and that the flow and balance of this energy in the
human body is the underlying foundation of health. Stress, tension, pain, inflexible
thinking, and environmental stimuli are among many factors that can contribute to the
restriction of this energy flow in the human body. According to Polarity therapists,
such energy blocks can be released by the use of four therapeutic methods: body therapy,
diet, exercise and self-awareness. Polarity therapy includes gentle body manipulation and
holding pressure points (poles) as well as counseling on developing positive thoughts and
attitudes, understanding the principles of food combining and easy exercises to increase
energy flow. Polarity is often used by care givers in conjunction with many other therapies.
REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a powerful, soothing pressure point massage done on the
feet and hands that reflexes to internal organs and structures of the
body for a rejuvenating stress reducing experience.
REIKI
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on approach that helps to
encourage a healing process suitable for many illnesses. The healthy
flow of metabolic energy is fortified by hands-on contact to specific
patterns in the body, offering a healthy sense of physical aliveness
and mental clarity.
SOFT TISSUE INJURY
This comprehensive program of soft-tissue manipulation balances the body's central
nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws which explain
how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, the goal is to help
relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause.
Neuromuscular therapy can help individuals who experience distortion and biomechanical
dysfunction, which is often a symptom of a deeper problem. It is also used to locate
and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that
cause referred pain, restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics and flexibility
to the tissues, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, and assist venous and lymphiatic flow.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
Behavior modifications skills (i.e. Polarity Therapy, meditation, visualization),
are employed to leave you relaxed, and refreshed with a plan of action for self-support.
